Historic Downtown Sanford has captured my heart for many reasons. But what I love the most about this town is its support for the arts and local artists. Every year, Downtown Sanford hosts a variety of events in which local artists and vendors exhibit their work. This month of November, they are trying to achieve a Guinness World Record for the largest Wing Mural exhibition with the Wing City Sanford event. With over 50 wings placed around Downtown Sanford created by local artists and art lovers, there’s no reason why you should miss this great outdoor event.
Wing City Sanford – Plan your Visit
Besides being super colorful and pretty, the wing murals are also a great photo op! Because…who doesn’t love pictures with wings? Don’t forget to practice social distancing and wear your mask! 😷
When is it happening?
November 16 – November 29, 2020
Where are the wings located?
You’ll find wings all across the downtown. You can download the Wing Mural Map here.
Admission for Wing City Sanford
This is a public event for all ages and it’s completely free!
The best thing about this event is that it’s outdoors–making it easier to enjoy while practicing social distancing. So if you’re looking for somewhere to go after Thanksgiving, Historic Downtown Sanford is the place to be!
While You’re There…
Now that you’re in one of my favorite downtowns in Central Florida, you can’t leave without visiting these.
- Stop for the Best Coffee Around Sanford. Coffee lovers, grab your coffee fix at The Rosie Lee Co. It’s delicious, the place is super cool and they have an amazing variety of tea, too!
- Pizza, anyone? For me, the best pizza around Sanford right now is at Oak Flame Pizza. It’s oak-fired and always on point!
NOTICE: In the midst of what’s going on around the world, we encourage you to practice social distancing and to adhere to all safety protocols. We do not expect you to visit these places right now, and we are not, in any way, encouraging you to do so. We do, however, choose to continue sharing the beautiful places that we have been able to visit thus far, as proud supporters of local travel. Take notes and have these destinations on hand for your future travels!
